Mixed motorboat with excellent accommodations for passengers in two classes and good hold capacity, designed expressly for the South African line, she had an elegant external line, with very slender bow and “cruiser” type stern, very active central superstructures, only one shaped funnel and tripod shaft; it had an overall length of 159.2 meters and a full load draft of 7.4.
The first class, very neat, could accommodate passengers in cabins with one or two beds and had a beautiful living room, a dining room, bar, two verandas and an outdoor swimming pool with its lido deck.
The furnishing of this ship followed the now defined clear and rational lines that inspired all the builders and amateurs of that period, with sober elegance and good taste.
Between 1959 and 1960 it underwent improvement works that included the extension of the air conditioning system, which was originally reserved only for meeting rooms and rooms, to the whole ship, including the passenger and crew cabins.
Overall, it proved to be an excellent ship, especially for the right balance between availability of seats, and accommodations for passengers and the good load capacity, which guaranteed a profitable operation for many years.
